Directions to the ITP

From the Airport

By Taxi

• Taxi fare from the airport to the Institute is approx. € 30,-.

By Public Transport to the Railway Station Nordstadt

• Take train (S-Bahn) no. 5.
• Leave the train at the stop Nordstadt.
• Upon leaving the railway station turn right and continue to the next traffic light (approx. 200 m) and cross the street.
• Turn right into Haltenhoffstraße and continue to the next street on the left hand side (Schneiderberg).
• Walk along the street Schneiderberg for about 300 meters until the intersection with Appelstraße on your right. Just before the intersection, you find on your right a present-day 3-storey building containing the ITP on the top floor.
• To enter the building, ring the bell or wait until people exit. Take the elevator to the 3rd floor (no.2) to arrive in the theory division.
• In total this takes about 20 to 25 minutes after leaving the airport station.

From the Central Railway Station

By Taxi

• Taxi fare from the central railway station to the Institute is approx. € 20,-.

By Public Transport

• Walk through the railway station towards "Zentrum".
• Upon leaving the railway station continue perpendicular to the building for about 150 meters on "Bahnhofstraße", until you reach the central square "Kröpcke".
• Enter subway station "Kröpcke" (marked "U" on substreet level) and take subway no.4 in direction "Garbsen" or no.5 in direction "Stöcken" (following the yellow color coding).
• Tickets are available at kiosks or at ticket vending machines (e.g. at subway station "Kröpcke").
  • Departure times every 4 min. Mo. - Fr.
  • One way ticket: € 2,10 ("Zone 1")
• Leave the train at the 4th stop which is called "Wilhelm-Busch-Museum/Schneiderberg".
• Walk perpendicular to the tracks, away from the gardens, along the street "Schneiderberg" for about 400 meters until the intersection with "Appelstraße" on your left. Just across the intersection you find on your left a present-day 3-storey building containing the ITP on the top floor.
• To enter the building, ring the bell or wait until people exit. Take the elevator to the 3rd floor (no.2) to arrive in the theory division.
• In total this takes about 20 to 25 minutes after leaving the central railway station.

By Car

From the West or the East

• Highway A2.
• Leave at exit "Hannover-Herrenhausen", follow the sign "Zentrum" onto B6.
• Stay on B6 (Westschnellweg) for 6 kilometers, turn left toward "Zentrum" at traffic lights.
• At the city limits (sign "Hannover") approach a large intersection, turn left sharp (direction "Universität").
• After 1 kilometer turn right at a light into "Schneiderberg".
• 400 meters further "Appelstraße" meets from the left; just across the intersection you find on your left a present-day 3-storey building containing the ITP on the top floor.
• To enter the building, ring the bell or wait until people exit. Take the elevator to the 3rd floor (no.2) to arrive in the theory division.

From the North

• Highway A7
• At highway fork "Hannover-Nord" change to the A352, direction "Dortmund".
• Follow the highway until you reach the A2 and take the next exit (-> B6).
• From now on the same as "From the West or the East"

From the South

• Highway A7.
• At highway fork "Hannover-Süd" change to the A37, direction "Messe".
• Highway A37 ends and becomes B6 (Messeschnellweg).
• Stay on B6, always in direction "Nienburg", passing through 3 roundabouts.
• About 2 kilometers after the last roundabout (with water tower) turn right towards "Zentrum" at traffic lights.
• At the city limits (sign "Hannover") approach a large intersection, turn left sharp (direction "Universität").
• After 1 kilometer turn right at a light into "Schneiderberg".
• After 400 meters "Appelstraße" meets from the left; just across the intersection you find on your left a present-day 3-storey building containing the ITP on the top floor.
