My name is Peter Finch and I am a mathematical physicist. My research is primarily focused on integrable systems and one-dimensional quantum chains. I have several publications in a number of international journals.
Currently I am employed as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at Leibniz University Hannover. I work under Prof. Holger Frahm and my groups webpage can be found here.
My Ph.D. was completed in 2009 (awarded 2010) at the University of Queensland. My supervisors were Dr. Jon Links, Dr. Phillip Isaac and Dr. Karen Dancer and I was part of the Centre for Mathematical Physics. My undergraduate studies were also completed at the University of Queensland. I obtained a bachelor's degree (with honours) in 2006 in the fields of mathematics and physics.
Although I currently live in Germany I am actually Australian. I have a passion for mathematics and science in general, in particular ideas or proofs which are succinct and elegant, or that initially seem counterintuitive.

General Research Interests
My research areas are mathematical physics and one-dimensional quantum systems, primarily focusing on integrable spin chains and related algebraic structures (e.g. quantum groups). The most recent major project I have undertaken is the construction of a spin chain and the identification of its low-energy spectrum and the associated conformal field theory. I am also interested in the Yang-Baxter and reflection equations, quasi-triangular Hopf algebras, representation theory, exactly solvable models, the Bethe ansatz and anyon chains.
